El también novelista y dirigente PRMista, afirmó que con el cierre de la frontera, los que más sufren son los sectores más vulnerables, y como no hay intención de crear dolor en la población haitiana, como un gesto humanitario y cristiano, cambiar esa medida por la presión que significaría para el gobierno haitiano las deportaciones masivas de sus ciudadanos.
Milton Olivo, presidente del Movimiento Quisqueya Potencia, expresó que el gobierno haitiano debe reflexionar y entrar en razón, y comprender que los Tratados entre los Estados, deben ser respetado, y al hacerlo, son ellos quienes han creado la crisis, y sugirió responder al llamado de diálogo externado por el gobierno dominicano.
