El partido Opción Democrática reiteró su apoyo a los avances obtenidos con la Operación Calamar por parte del Ministerio Público, por constituir un paso importante en la lucha por lograr un país libre de impunidad.
“Tenemos la seguridad de que respetando el debido proceso y haciendo cumplir la ley, los tribunales de este país serán capaces de producir justicia”, expresó la organización política a través de un comunicado.
Puntualizó que la falta de justicia ante décadas de corrupción administrativa es uno de los grandes reclamos de la sociedad dominicana, “por eso hemos participado con mucho entusiasmo en cada manifestación social convocada desde enero 2017”.
Advirtió que la justicia sólo se puede medir por cómo terminan de ser juzgados en los tribunales los hechos punibles, no por cómo se comienza o las expectativas que generan los medios de comunicación, ni mucho menos el aparataje poco útil a la causa de la justicia.
Asimismo, sostuvo que es tiempo de que cada quien rinda cuentas sobre su manejo de los recursos públicos, y que quienes hayan violado la ley paguen las consecuencias.
“El fortalecimiento de la justicia y la institucionalidad son ejes fundamentales de la Buena Política que promovemos en Opción Democrática. Por eso reiteramos al Ministerio Público nuestra solicitud de que amplíe las labores de investigación en torno a la Operación Calamar, como además investigar las denuncias que involucran a funcionarios del presente gobierno como las anteriores incumbentes del Ministerio de la Juventud y el anterior titular del Ministerio de la Presidencia, entre otros”, manifestó la organización política
