Como solución a la crisis, el Consejo de Seguridad aprueba en el 2004 enviar una fuerza de establecimiento de un entorno seguro y estable. Con la llegada de las tropas y distribución en el territorio, la paz fue establecida en cada región.
Se incorporó un gobierno interino y se convocaron a elecciones presidenciales. Vustabe que le habían violentado su derecho de elegir lo pudo volver a ejercer y no solo una vez sino en tres ocasiones pudo elegir un presidente.
Las inversiones en infraestructura, escuelas, academia de policías, se desarrollaban por todo el país. La renta de hoteles y casas se convirtió en un buen negocio, se necesitó de la construcción de muchos más para la demanda.
Gracias a la misión el PIB y el PIB per cápita comenzó a crecer de forma sostenida según datos del Banco Mundial.
El intercambio comercial de importaciones y exportaciones mejoraba acorde datos de la UNCTAD.
Vustabe consiguió un trabajo digno, sus hijos podían asistir a la escuela y su madre podía asistir a un centro hospitalario.
Retraso en los avances sociales y económicos de la Misión.
En el 2010 sucedió el trágico terremoto en Haití, donde más de 200 mil personas perdieron la vida, destruyendo prácticamente la capital completa.
Este fenómeno provoco un retroceso en todos los ámbitos socio-económicos. Todas las infraestructuras tanto públicas como privadas sufrieron daños, la recesión económica provoco un deterioro en la calidad de vida y todos los avances que la MINUSTAH había alcanzado.
Los años siguientes de la MINUSTAH
La ONU, como medida para apoyar las tareas luego del terremoto incremento la cantidad de miembros de la MINUSTAH, involucrándose en las actividades de recuperación de la nación.
A partir del 2011, Haití volvió al camino del crecimiento económico, estabilidad política, el comercio se dinamizó nuevamente, y las autoridades recibieron asesoría en cada ámbito del que hacer del Estado, desde finanza públicas, seguridad, derechos humanos entre otros.
Salida de la MINUSTAH.
En el año 2017 el consejo de seguridad decide terminar con la misión, dejando en manos del gobierno haitiano la continuidad de la estabilidad y el entorno seguro de la nación.
El primer gran reto del gobierno haitiano fue celebrar unas elecciones por sí solos, cosa que no pudieron o no quisieron realizar.
Vustabe ve violentado su derecho al voto, recuerda como en el año 2004 su país estaba inmenso en inseguridad que inicio con una crisis política.
Los políticos y empresarios empiezan armar civiles para su protección. Esos mismos civiles armados inician a extorsionar empresarios y comerciantes, quienes se ven obligados a cerrar sus negocios y sacar sus familiares del país. Vustabe nuevamente queda sin trabajo y todo vuelve a ser igual que antes.
El magnicidio del presidente Jovenel Moise en su propia casa, muestra que la situación está fuera de control, la inseguridad llega al punto que ni siquiera el gobernante está a salvo.
¿Fracaso la MINUSTAH?
Para Vustabe la MINUSTAH fue buena, pudo trabajar, su familia podía circular en las calles, y adquirían lo básico para vivir. Luego de la salida de la misión, Haití se ha convertido en un territorio fragmentado controlado por bandas.
Durante la misión celebraron elecciones en el tiempo debido, y los indicadores socioeconómicos en el país todos fueron mejor que antes de le MINUSTAH, y, a su salida todos los indicadores empeoraron hasta llegar a la crisis humanitaria actual.
Catalogar la misión de excelente sería un gran error, pero, decir que fracaso sería injusto. fracaso el liderazgo y la elite haitiana, al no poder continuar el camino de estabilidad recorrido durante la estadía de la MINUSTAH en su territorio.
